Hanging Drywall
The first big step in fixing a hole or putting up a new wall is called hanging drywall. We use strong, fire-resistant gypsum board, often called Sheetrock. When we do a drywall repair, sometimes we have to cut out the bad part of the wall and hang a whole new piece.
For big jobs, like finishing a basement in Holyoke or an addition in Westfield, we are experts at full sheetrock installation. We make sure every piece is lined up perfectly and all the screws are set just right.
Taping Drywall
Once the sheetrock is hung, the next big step is taping drywall. This is where we make those seams disappear. Every place two pieces of sheetrock meet, and every screw head, has to be covered using a special paper or fiberglass mesh tape and joint compound—the mud.
